On today’s #MediaMondays episode, the Detroit Police Media Relations team addressed the city’s heavy weekend and the tragic loss of a six-year-old following an accidental shooting. Currently, we are seeking the communities assistance with three separate shooting incidents: repast shooting, Suite 100 and the Motorcycle Club. Anyone with information is asked to contact DPD's homicide unit, or you can send an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers or Detroit Rewards TV. Detroit, let’s work together to prevent violence in our community. If you see conflict escalating, contact one of Detroit’s Community Violence Intervention (CVI) groups or reach out to your precinct’s Neighborhood Police Officers (NPO). Visit the city of Detroit’s website for information about the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood and Community Safety to connect with CVI groups or to find out who your NPOs are. Additionally, DPD’s Procedural Justice and Police Legitimacy community meeting is coming back on Saturday, March 7th at SAY Detroit Play Center. We ask that residents bring questions and constructive criticism for law enforcement to join us for conversations, police scenarios, and other activities. Register before all slots are filled.
